What does this little green seal mean?
The U.S. Organic Standard. To put it simply when you see this green seal, under the USDA regulations, the product must contain a minimum of 95% organic ingredients.
In October 2002, the long-awaited Congressionally mandated National Organic Standards went into effect, requiring that all products labeled as organic meet stringent standards established in a public, transparent manner by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Now consumers have peace of mind that when something says it is “organic,” it will meet the strict standards set by the USDA.
